Our Beliefs:
The Why Behind our Work

Rooted in the longstanding commitment of two churches that have served the Sandtown-Winchester community in West Baltimore for over three decades, our organization is driven by the truth expressed in Genesis 1:27-28:
"So God created man in his own image; he created him in the image of God; he created them male and female. God blessed them, and God said to them, 'Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every creature that crawls on the earth.'" (CSB)
These values and beliefs have motivated us from the beginning, shaping not only what we do but how we do it—every single day. They remind us why we serve, influence the way we walk alongside others, and sustain us through the challenges we face. They are the foundation of our commitment to the Sandtown-Winchester community and beyond.
Walk in Your Worth
At the heart of our work is the belief that every person is created in the image of God. This conviction is more than a theological idea—it is the foundation of our mission. We believe that every individual, regardless of background, history, or circumstances, carries inherent dignity, purpose, and potential. By amplifying the voices of residents in under-resourced communities in West Baltimore, we honor this truth—recognizing that all people are uniquely gifted by God to contribute to their families' growth and their communities' prosperity.
Each week, as we explore foundational business concepts together, our role is not to put something into you, but to draw out what God has already placed within you. Just as God blessed the first man and woman and called them to fruitfulness, we believe that He desires for each of us to thrive—regardless of where we’ve been or what challenges we’ve faced. True thriving happens when we connect to something bigger than ourselves.
We Grow Together
From the very beginning, we believe God created us to be in community with each other. We flourish best when we learn, grow, and build together. That’s why we create a supportive learning environment, where we encourage one another, share knowledge, and establish strong peer networks that provide both practical and emotional support.
Embrace Your Given Mission
We believe God entrusted humankind with dominion and stewardship over creation, and we see entrepreneurship as one way of living out that responsibility. Whether or not you choose to start a business, the skills you develop—critical thinking, financial management, planning, communication, and goal setting—will equip you to succeed not just in business, but in life. These skills will empower you to be a more capable employee, a leader in your community, and a source of encouragement and hope around your dinner table.
Legacy Over Labels
Ultimately, we measure success not just in businesses launched, but in the confidence, empowerment, and hope instilled in the people we serve. We envision a West Baltimore where residents are not only building sustainable businesses but also shaping the future of their neighborhoods—engaging in civic life, creating economic opportunities, and contributing to a thriving, interconnected community.
You have something valuable to offer, and we are here to walk alongside you as you discover, develop, and share it with the world.
